And in an interview with BeinSports, the 35-year-old seven-time Ballon d'Or winner admitted: "I’ve achieved everything in football. There is nothing left,"

Prior to 2021, Messi had yet to taste success at the international level, after experiencing several heartbreaking losses in Copa America and World Cup finals.
But Argentina’s wait for their first trophy since 1993 came to an end when they defeated Brazil 1-0 to claim the Copa America title in 2021. A year and a half later, Messi overcame the heartbreak of losing the 2014 World Cup by lifting the coveted trophy in 2022 after Argentina defeated France on penalties in a thrilling final.
The man who many have dubbed the greatest player of all time has enjoyed a career many could only dream of. In a previous statement to Mundo Deportivo, Messi said of his move to David Beckham's Miami: “I'm not going back to Barça, I'm going to Inter Miami.
"I made the decision that I'm going to go to Miami. I still haven't closed it one hundred percent. I'm missing some things but we decided to continue on the path. If the Barcelona thing didn't come out, I wanted to leave Europe, get out of the spotlight and think more about my family.”
Argentina midfielder Thiago Almada, who plays for Atlanta United, believes his compatriot will help to grow the game of soccer in the United States.
“He's going to a big club, he's going to help Inter Miami grow. People are crazy there, they're going to enjoy it a lot and are going to welcome him very well," the 22-year-old told TyC Sports. “The matches will allow him to continue at a good pace because they are followed and intense.”
Messi is reportedly set to earn $100million a season, which would make him the highest-paid player in MLS. On top of Messi's salary, the new Miami player will also receive income from other revenue streams, such as Apple and Adidas.
The soccer icon continued his fine form for Argentina by scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 victory over Australia. He scored after just 80 seconds with a left-foot shot curled into the top corner, which marked the fastest-ever goal that Messi has scored in his illustrious career.
