Arsenal expected XI vs Newcastle as Mikel Arteta makes three changes amid Gabriel doubt
Arsenal are hoping to close the gap on Manchester City by beating Newcastle at St James' Park this afternoon.
Arsenal are aiming to become just the second visiting team to win a Premier League match at St James' Park later today. Victory would close the gap to leaders Manchester City to just one point following their win over struggling Leeds yesterday. Express Sport looks at how Arsenal are expected to line up against Eddie Howe's Newcastle side.
Goalkeeper - Ramsdale
Arsenal haven't kept a clean sheet in their last eight matches in all competitions. That isn't all down to Aaron Ramsdale but he will need to be at his best to keep Newcastle at bay.
The Magpies have scored nine goals in their last two home matches. Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are both vying for a starting spot up front for the hosts.
Defence - White, Kiwior, Gabriel, Tierney
There is doubt over the fitness of centre-back Gabriel after he limped off with an ankle injury during the win over Chelsea. However, Arteta did not rule him out at his press conference and the Brazilian's resilience could see him keep up his run of starting every league game this season.
Jakub Kiwior did okay on his full Premier League debut in midweek and will likely keep his place ahead of Rob Holding. One change Arteta may make is at left-back, with Kieran Tierney coming in for Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Zinchenko has been caught out defensively a couple of times of late and Tierney provides more cover in that regard. Ben White will start on the opposite side of defence.

Midfield - Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka
Jorginho did well against former club Chelsea on Tuesday. However, Arteta may need the extra defensive nous of Thomas Partey to try and thwart Newcastle's attacking threat.
Partey has been poor of late but being dropped may give him the extra motivation to prove people wrong. Granit Xhaka is back to full fitness after illness limited his impact against title rivals Manchester City 10 days ago.
Martin Odegaard scored twice last time out to take his tally to 14 league goals this season. Only Gabriel Martinelli has scored more for the Gunners.

Attack - Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
Martinelli was left out for the visit of Chelsea but could come straight back in today. Leandro Trossard failed to take his opportunity and lasted less than an hour.
Bukayo Saka will keep up his run of featuring in every league match this season. It will be the 77th league game in a row he has played in if he does step on the pitch.
Gabriel Jesus scored his 10th goal of an injury-hit campaign against Chelsea. He will keep both Trossard and Eddie Nketiah out of the side.
Arsenal expected XI vs Newcastle in full: Ramsdale; White, Kiwior, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
