Bukayo Saka could become the joint eighth highest paid in the Premier League if he accepts his reported £300,000 a week contract with Arsenal. The England international is widely expected to extend his stay with his boyhood club and will become the highest-paid player at the Emirates if he does so.
Saka has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season, becoming the talisman of Mikel Arteta’s side as battle for the trophy. The 21-year-old has scored 13 goals and contributed 10 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
He has translated that form onto the international stage too netting a pearler in the 2-0 win over Ukraine on Sunday. He is currently in a rich vein of form and will be expected to keep it up and drive Arsenal to the title come May.
Understandably, Arsenal are keen to tie him down on a long-term deal. His current contract expires in 2024 but it is widely believed he is on the verge of signing a significant extension. The Daily Mail reports that a £300,000 per week deal was verbally agreed in February. It would make him the highest earner currently at the Emirates and second only to only Mesut Ozil in the club’s history.

The deal would also make Saka the joint eighth highest-paid player in the Premier League alongside Jack Grealish and Casemiro according to Spotrac. Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland unsurprisingly lead the league’s wage charts with David de Gea, Mo Salah, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Raheem Sterling following behind.
Kalidou Koulibaly follows behind Saka, earning an estimated £295,000 per week while Gabriel Jesus is the next highest earner at Arsenal on £265,000 a week.

Arsenal team mate Gabriel Martinelli has urged Saka to commit his future to the club, stating the Emirates is his home.
"I will be happy [if he stays] because he is a very, very good player, one of the best young players in the world," the Brazilian told reporters ahead of the Gunners Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon earlier this month. "He is at his house, you know. Arsenal is his home and for sure he is happy. And we will be happy as well if he stays and signs a new deal."
Saka’s new deal is likely to be well received by Arsenal supporters, giving the club one final boost for the Premier League run in.
