Arteta hopes for FA Cup win to give Arsenal boost in title race
The clock is really beginning to tick down now with just five days remaining of the January transfer window. Premier League managers up and down the country will no doubt be desperate for their clubs to work some last-minute magic and bring in a quality reinforcement or two to boost their squads ahead of the second half of the season.
Arsenal have been the name on everyone's lips due to their sensational campaign so far, and the Gunners have also been active in January, splashing out on signing winger Leandro Trossard from Brighton and defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia. Mikel Arteta's desire for a central midfielder is well-known, though, and Real Sociedad star Martín Zubimendi is the latest name mentioned as a possibility. Could there be a breakthrough in a move for the 23-year-old today?
Elsewhere, Manchester United are another of the elite sides hoping for at least one more signing. Rumour has it that Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries' agent is currently in England and ready to hold talks with potential suitors over a deal. But will the Red Devils be able to hold off the competition and get their man?
Meanwhile, Leeds are after Juventus' Weston McKennie, Tottenham are closing in on Sporting wing-back Pedro Porro and Chelsea are eyeing Brighton's Moises Caicedo. But will there be enough time to get the deals done? You can find out right here.

Sporting Lisbon are now reportedly demanding more money from Tottenham for Pedro Porro.
Spurs have been targeting the wing-back throughout the January window.
They were initially reluctant to pay the release clause in the 23-year-old's contract, which sits at just under £40m.
They recently indicated that they would trigger the clause. But Spanish outlet AS claims Sporting now want more money due to a technicality in Porro's contract.
Chelsea have reportedly struck an agreement with Lyon for right-back Malo Gusto.
The Athletic claims that a deal has been agreed which will see Gusto stay at Lyon for the remainder of the season and join the Blues in the summer.
The 19-year-old looks set to become the seventh player to agree to join Chelsea in the January window, with the Blues to pay around £26.3m plus add-ons.
Gusto will likely become a long-term rival and back-up to Reece James at Stamford Bridge.
Gabriel Martinelli has agreed a new four-and-a-half-year contract at Arsenal, according to reports.
The Brazilian has had an impressive first half of the season and has been influential in the Gunners being five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Martinelli's current contract runs until 2024 and there was an option for the club to extend by a further two years.
But The Athletic claim he has been rewarded for his form with improved terms on a longer-team deal.
Martinelli has seven goals and two assists to his name in 19 league starts this season.
James Maddison could still leave Leicester before Tuesday's deadline, it has been claimed.
Newcastle hold a strong interest in the England international, who is close to a return to full fitness following the knee injury which hampered him at the World Cup.
The Independent claims Leicester turned down a concrete bid for Maddison from an unnamed Premier League club earlier this month.
The Foxes would be tempted into a sale if the offer is right, despite being so late in a window.
Chelsea youngster Bashir Humphreys will spend the rest of the season on loan in Germany. The 19-year-old defender has joined SC Paderborn on a temporary basis.
Humphreys made his Chelsea debut in the FA Cup third-round defeat at Manchester City earlier this month. He played the full 90 minutes of the match at the Etihad.
He has been an unused substitute in recent Premier League matches against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and City. Paderborn currently sit sixth in Bundesliga 2.

Roberto De Zerbi is refusing to rule out the January exit of Moises Caicedo following Arsenal's £60m proposal.
The Italian has labelled the Ecuador international "complete" - suggesting he understands the interest from further afield.
“He’s a very important player, a strong player, a big player,” said Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.
“He can become one of the best midfielders in Europe. For me he is now, but in the next two years for sure, because he’s technical but he’s, strong, physical. He’s complete.
“The best solution is he can finish the season with us and in the summer it is better to change teams. If Caicedo continues to play like the last games it is possible he can leave.”
Fulham are continuing to work on a deal for Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Marco Silva is also interested in Abdoulaye Doucoure but Lukic is the top midfield target.
Romano tweeted: "Fulham are insisting on Saša Lukić deal with Torino after €8m opening bid this week."
Torino coach Ivan Juric added on his player: “I consider Lukić as top player, he’s so good. We know it’s not easy to reach an agreement on new contracts for many clubs around the world — so we will see."
Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Chelsea want £17.5million for Hakim Ziyech, who is currently the first choice to replace Nicolo Zaniolo at Roma.
Roma have received a bid from Bournemouth for Zaniolo and AC Milan and Tottenham have also shown an interest.
Now Ziyech is in their sights and there has also been interest from Premier League clubs including Newcastle, Everton and Aston Villa.
After a tough start to the season, the Moroccan has recently been playing regularly in the Premier League following an eye-catching World Cup campaign in Qatar.
Arsenal have been told they must pay Martin Zubimendi's £53million release clause in order to strike a deal with Real Sociedad.
That's according to The Times, who say the Gunners are tracking the supremely-talented midfielder alongside Spanish giants Barcelona.
Real Sociedad were able to tie Zubimendi down to a new contract in October meaning they hold all the cards over a potential sale.
The 23-year-old maestro is said to be very highly rated by Mikel Arteta and Edu, who are scanning the market for a new midfielder to bolster Arsenal's Premier League title push.
Chelsea have suffered a double blow in their attempt to bring in more January recruits for Graham Potter.
Todd Boehly had been looking to sign Amadou Onana and Malo Gusto but neither deal will be happening this month.
Onana has reportedly told Chelsea he wants to remain at Everton until the end of the season to bolster their Premier League survival bid.
Meanwhile, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has ruled out the departure of Gusto - stating the right-back will be remaining in France until at least the end of the season.
Newcastle reportedly saw a swap deal offer rejected by Everton for Anthony Gordon earlier in the window.
The Mail are reporting that the Magpies offered Everton the chance to sign Chris Wood as part of the proposal.
But the Toffees were not interest in the move and instead declined before Wood signed for Nottingham Forest on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.
Meanwhile, Gordon is still attempting to force through a transfer to Newcastle as he continues to skip Everton training.
