Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Real Madrid this summer. Reports over the weekend said the Manchester United star was wanted back by Los Blancos, who believe he ‘guarantees goals’. And it seems like the Red Devils are facing a repeat of what happened back in 2009.
In 2009, United were forced to let Ronaldo go after Real Madrid submitted a world-record bid of £80million for the player.
And he went on to etch his name into the Bernabeu history books, scoring 450 goals and propelling the club to four Champions League crowns.
These days, Ronaldo is still going strong. He’s scored 23 goals for United this term, more than other strikers such as Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani combined.
Yet the Red Devils could be about to lose their talisman with Real Madrid open to having him back.
So, with that being the case, it’s time to throw things back to what Ronaldo has said about his move away from the La Liga champions back in 2018.

“I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” he said.
“In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’.
“Less afterwards. The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.
