Reading: Injury time penalty clinches match
Reading 2, Plymouth 1
SHANE LONG’S injury time penalty clinched three vital points for Reading in this dour relegation battle at the Madejski Stadium.
Long converted after Hal Robson-Kanu was brought down in the box by Chris Clark to make it four goals in three games and clinch Reading’s third straight league win for the first time since December 2008.
Republic of Ireland striker Long opened the scoring from Brian Howard’s neat pass in the 51st minute. But Carl Fletcher looked to have saved Plymouth a point before Long’s late spot-kick settled it.
