Mason Greenwood: Arrest made following abuse accusations
Sportswear giants Nike have suspended their relationship with Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood following allegations of abuse. Earlier this week images were released by a young woman alleging that Greenwood had caused her physical harm.
United confirmed on Sunday evening that the 20-year-old had been suspended from all duties until further notice, as an investigation was started.
Greater Manchester Police also confirmed they were looking into the alleged incident, and brought the footballer in for questioning.
Now, Nike have moved to cut their ties with the England international, having previously issued a statement saying they had been left ‘deeply concerned’ by the allegations.
Nike, who sponsored Greenwood, said they had “suspended our relationship” with the footballer in a statement on Monday, as reported by the Athletic.
Their statement added: “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”

United had released a statement on Sunday, relating to the allegations against Greenwood.
"We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media,” it read.
"We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established.
“Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind."
