"Diego Carlos has asked to leave Sevilla, he wants to move to Newcastle.
"I told you the player wants to come, Sevilla willing to do business, but the price must be right for them.
"I think it's been reported in Spain that the player may even have a release clause of something like £66.7million (€80m) - that has not been confirmed.
"Of course, as far as Newcastle United are concerned, after the takeover they are arguably the richest club in the world.

"But that doesn't mean they're going to throw money around, they don't want to pay over the odds, and they have other targets."
Solhekol then received further information that Carlos is writing an email to the Sevilla president and manager requesting his exit be facilitated by the club.
Speaking at the weekend, European football expert Andy Brassell claimed the contract offer Newcastle had made to Carlos was "life-changing".
Brassell said on BT Sport Score: "I think they'll get Diego Carlos over the line from Sevilla because everyone has their price at Sevilla because he'll be cheaper than Sven Botman because him and his entourage are absolutely astonished by the size of the contract Newcastle have put on the table.
"It's potentially life-changing for him at nearly 29 years old."
