He has starred for Marseille so far this season and has again been named in the France squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, though is yet to make his senior debut for Les Bleus.
Guendouzi made 82 appearances in his first two seasons at Arsenal after being signed by Unai Emery in 2018.
Emery was approached by Newcastle about becoming their new manager but confirmed this week that he will be staying at Villarreal.
Emery wrote in a statement on social media: "No matter how much noise there was yesterday in another country there was transparency and loyalty within Villarreal and the Roig family (owners) and their staff.
"That is maximum for me and that is most important for me. Villarreal is my home and I am 100 per cent committed to stay here.
