Chelsea have reportedly made it abundantly clear on who they regard as 'untouchable' in the transfer market. The Blues had an obvious intention last summer in wanting to bring in a top striker to play through the middle of Thomas Tuchel's system.
Erling Haaland was the original target, but that quickly changed to Romelu Lukaku once Borussia Dortmund indicated the Norwegian striker would not be sold.
A club-record fee was then outlayed to bring Lukaku back to the club to join Tuchel's superstar squad.
Signing a centre-back was Chelsea's next objective, but a deal couldn't be agreed with Sevilla for Jules Kounde.
There were plenty of outgoings at Chelsea in the summer though with Tuchel keen to cut down his huge squad.
