Ansu Fati has astonishing record that even Lionel Messi couldn't match at his age
Ansu Fati has burst onto the scene at the Nou Camp ever since his debut at the age of 16.
La Liga 'lacking star player' after Messi's Barcelona exit
Lionel Messi is extremely likely to forever go down as Barcelona's best player, given the records the Argentine has produced at the Catalan club. But there is one current Blaugrana player who has fared even better than him in the inaugural stages of their careers in Ansu Fati.
The La Masia product, who joined Barcelona aged 10 from Sevilla after his brother had made the same move, made his debut in August 2019 at the age of just 16 years and 298 days.

His goal saw him become the highest scorer under the age of 19 in Barcelona's history - and already has way more than Messi did as an 18 year old.
The Guinean-born winger has achieved 13 strikes, six ahead of Messi's seven at the same stage - and has now overtaken failed prodigy Bojan Krkic, with the Spanish centre-forward previously holding the record with 12 goals.
What is made even more impressive is that Fati missed almost the entirety of the last campaign through injury.
The winger only played seven league games, scoring four along the way as he cemented his status as a burgeoning prospect.

Sergio Aguero wants to help Fati continue his prosperous start to life at Barcelona following his move from Manchester City this summer.
The 33-year-old spent ten fruitful years in England, but is now ready to ply his trade back in Spain after a decade's hiatus.
“Ansu is a very young player and he has a lot to show,” Aguero told Sport.
“I am very happy because we have him, and we have to take advantage of it.
“We have to help him continue to show the talent he has.”
Barcelona will look to pick up their first points of the season in the Champions League as they take on Dynamo Kyiv at the Nou Camp on Wednesday.
