Liverpool's failed mega bid for Newcastle transfer target Federico Chiesa
Chiesa has starred for Juventus and Italy, with Liverpool keen to sign him in the summer transfer window, though they now face competition from Newcastle.
Liverpool reportedly failed with a megabid for Juventus star Federico Chiesa, who is now a transfer target for Newcastle United. Cheisa has become a key player for Juve this season, having won Euro 2020 with Italy in the summer.

He continued that form at this summer’s Euros, scoring twice as Italy won their first major tournament since the 2006 World Cup.
With Chiesa impressing for both club and country, the 23-year-old quickly moved to the top of Klopp’s list of targets.
But the attacker had only spent one season with Juve having joined from Fiorentina on a two-year loan deal which contained a £40million obligation to buy.
As a result, Liverpool were forced to gear up to submit a megabid in order to lure him away from the Allianz Stadium.

But that duo have now been joined in the race to sign the Italian by Newcastle, who have been taken over by the mega-rich Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
The Magpies are set to undergo a similar transformation to Manchester City, with a number of stars linked with a move to St James’ Park.
With Chiesa continuing to impress, his name has now joined the list of many who are thought to be being eyed by Newcastle.
It is a move the now cash-rich Premier League side can easily afford, with Il Giornale reporting his salary demands would be “guaranteed” by a move to the Magpies.
