City box clever
HULL’S game against Manchester United and Stoke’s home match against Manchester City became the third and fourth matches to be had needed an FA Cup replay.
But for some reason more than a third of the Premier League has been dragged into fixture rearrangements given new dates after the postponement of both Carling Cup semi-finals.
Manchester City’s home game against Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn on Monday would have been played tomorrow instead if either side rather than simply playing both fi rst legs next week.
It couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that moving Monday night’s game would have cost both teams £480,000 in television money, could it?
