TV boost for FA Cup
THE FA’s assertion that the weather contributed to some of the empty seats at last weekend’s third-round FA Cup games is borne out by television viewing figures.
More than seven million people were following Leeds’ thrilling victory over Manchester United by the end and similar
figures tuned into both the West Ham-Arsenal game and also Liverpool’s draw at Reading.
Thanks in part to the collapse of Setanta, there is set to be unprecedented coverage of the FA Cup on terrestrial TV, with four games shown live for the fi st time over a weekend.
