Arsenal's stance on further signings today after Takehiro Tomiyasu transfer
Arsenal are set to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Serie A side Bologna.
Arteta: 'Still some things' for Arsenal to do in window
Arsenal are set to make Takehiro Tomiyasu their sixth signing of the summer transfer window. The Gunners will have spent around £150million on new players once the initial £17m deal for Tomiyasu gets over the line. However, the Japan international is likely to be the last new face through the door at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta has targeted younger players during the summer and, at 22, Tomiyasu is no different.
The defender can play at right-back and at centre-back to provide versatility to the Gunners squad.
Tomiyasu is having his medical in Italy this afternoon ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.
He will be the third defensive signing Arteta has made this summer.

Left-back Nuno Tavares was the first over the line, with Ben White then joining from Brighton for £50m.
There have been two additions in midfield, with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard arriving.
Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has also joined the Gunners for an initial £24m.
But football.london says there is unlikely to be any other incomings after Tomiyasu.
Further outgoings could happen following the news that Reiss Nelson has joined Feyenoord on loan.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is wanted by Everton and made it clear on his Instagram page on Tuesday that he wants to leave.
Hector Bellerin is having a medical ahead of a loan move to Real Betis.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson is close to joining OH Leuven after a poor first season at Arsenal.
Arsenal have lost their first three Premier League games of the campaign.
Saturday saw Arteta's side lose 5-0 at defending champions Manchester City.
It is the Gunners' worst start to a season since 1954/55.
Arteta insists he takes the blame for his team's performances and has vowed to turn things around.
"I've always said it, I will be the one [to take responsibility]," Arteta said at the weekend.
"I think I've been more critical about myself and taking the blame every single time, but only when we have defeats.
"I stand here today and I do exactly the same thing.
"I question myself and I have to try and have the right people around me and look at every decision that we make, and that I make, and try to improve it and change it if we believe that we should have done something different, of course."
