Manchester United confirm Cristiano Ronaldo return
Manchester United are likely to officially announce the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the next 48 hours, according to reports. And the Red Devils are also primed to show off the veteran’s shirt number, too. He used to wear No 7 at Old Trafford but, with Edinson Cavani now the occupant, may be forced into taking something different instead.
Manchester United announced on Friday that they’d agreed a deal to re-sign Ronaldo.
“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” they said in a statement.
“Cristiano, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has so far won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, seven league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and the European Championship for his native Portugal.
“In his first spell for Manchester United, he scored 118 goals in 292 games.
“Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester.”
And, now, talkSPORT claim United are likely to officially unveil Ronaldo in the next 48 hours.

And Ronaldo confirmed five years ago that he’d initially planned to take it when he moved to Old Trafford, only for Sir Alex Ferguson to talk him into wearing the No 7 instead.
"When I arrived at United, I asked for 28 but the coach said, 'No, you will wear seven,'" he said.
"I was petrified as I knew Beckham wore that shirt. But I took on the challenge and since then it has been my lucky number.
"I have won everything in football with that shirt."
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is buzzing about the prospect of having Ronaldo at his disposal.

“Of course the fans have been excited for the last couple of days, we all are of course,” he said.
“He has had such a great career and he has been here before.
“Hopefully we can just finalise the paperwork and announce it. He is going to give everybody a boost, of course.
“I played with him, he's a great player, he is a top human being, he is a top professional, so he will give everybody in the squad and everybody around the club a buzz.”
And he then added: “I think everyone’s looking forward to having Cristiano in and the paperwork done.

“We’re gradually improved and improved and signed younger players.
“Now we’ve signed Jadon, who is also a young player and Raphael who is experienced and won everything. Now hopefully Cristiano can come in and show what he’s done in his career.
“He’s a more experienced player than when he was here last time.
“He’s evolved and had an unbelievable career. All the talk about how he’s too old - just make it personal and he’ll show what he can do.”
