Man Utd: Neves ‘ticks all the boxes’ for club says expert
Manchester United remain open to making more signings before the close of the transfer window. Tom Heaton, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane have all moved to Old Trafford so far. And Ruben Neves could be next, with the Portugal international still being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
United are currently well-stocked in the middle of the park.
But that hasn’t stopped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from eyeing Neves as he seeks an upgrade on the likes of Fred, Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay.
The Wolves star has been a consistent performer during his time at Molineux, helping them win the Championship and later consolidate their position in the Premier League.
Yet while United want another arrival, it isn’t guaranteed.
That’s because the Red Devils have spent the majority of their transfer budget so far on the deals for Varane and Sancho, who arrived from Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
Any more transfer deals will have to be dependent on outgoings instead.

But he’s another who has held up their chase of Neves, with Flamengo only taking him on loan instead.
The Red Devils are still willing to let Jesse Lingard go should his valuation be met, despite Solskjaer publicly insisting he wants the playmaker to stay.
But without a fee in the region of £30million, that won’t happen.
And they’ve also not received any bids for Alex Telles, either.
They’re inclined to let the Brazil international go after he struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League last term.
