Tottenham began talks with Dusan Vlahovic's agent on Friday, according to reports from Italy. The rumour comes following claims Spurs striker Harry Kane has agreed personal terms with Manchester City. Spurs would need to replace Kane if the England captain gets his wish of a move away from north London.
Vlahovic is seemingly a player Tottenham are looking at as a potential replacement.
The 21-year-old enjoyed the best season of his career at Fiorentina last term.
He netted 21 goals in Serie A and his form has also seen him linked with a move to Inter Milan following Romelu Lukaku's impending transfer to Chelsea.
But it is Spurs who are reported to have initiated contact over a move for Vlahovic.

Tottenham transfer news: Spurs would need to replace Harry Kane if he joins Man City (Image: EXPRESS)
It is now down to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over what he will accept for the talismanic forward.
"Harry Kane obviously remains an ongoing project," McGarry said.
"But it is our information at the Transfer Window podcast that Kane has effectively agreed personal terms with City and his representatives, and that they are simply waiting on Daniel Levy to agree the fee.
"And of course Spurs themselves are investing quite aggressively in new players as well, which kind of suggests that they know already that Kane will be leaving and they're effectively strengthening their squad on the basis of the money coming in."

Kane was due to return to the Spurs training ground on Saturday.
He released a statement on Friday confirming he had not refused to train.
The statement read: "It's almost ten years since I made my Spurs debut. For every one of those years, you - the fans - have shown me total support and love.
"That's why it hurts to read some of the comments that have been made this week, questioning my professionalism.
"While I won't go into the specifics of the situation, I want to clarify that I would never, and have never, refused to train. I will be returning to the club tomorrow, as planned.
"I wouldn't do anything to jeopardise the relationship I have with the fans who have given me such unwavering support during my time with the club. This has always been the case as it is today."
