Varane deal 'a sign of Man Utd's aims'
Bruno Fernandes seems confident Manchester United team-mate Donny van de Beek can make an impact this season and looks to have urged the club not to get rid of the player. The Dutchman endured a difficult debut campaign in England and was subsequently linked with a departure this summer.
Adidas and Manchester United have launched their official 2021/22 home jersey, putting a modern twist on their classic club styles.
United signed Van de Beek from Ajax in a £35million deal last summer, but he struggled to cement a spot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team throughout the season.
The 24-year-old made just 15 starts in all competitions, four coming in the Premier League, but never looked convincing due to his stuttering game time.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Van de Beek was the subject of interest from clubs in Spain, Italy and Germany.
However, the Dutchman rejected a move away from Old Trafford in order to fight for his place.

The Portuguese midfielder has spoken highly of Van de Beek and, judging by his comments, wants him to stay at the club.
He told the official club website: "Yes he's working hard and working hard in the gym. Obviously he is one of the quality players we know and now he's building up."
Fernandes has also expressed how happy the United players seem to be back with the club ahead of the new season.
"As a professional player, you always prepare for your season before you come back for training," Fernandes explained.
"You always do something before, and I think everyone was doing their jobs at home.
