Arsenal legend Ian Wright looks set to have one of his transfer wishes granted by the Gunners after a U-turn from boss Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard is stepping up his business in the summer window after completing the signings of Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White.

“I feel for him because he’s someone I’ve been very critical of in the past,” he told ITV’s Football Show podcast following Switzerland’s defeat of France at the last 16 stage.
“When you see a performance like, do you blame him or the coaches for not getting those performances out of him in the past?
“I have never seen him used to that effect. There’s no way Arsenal should be selling a player that can play like that, at that level.”
But Wright will now be put at ease, with reports emerging yesterday that Xhaka will sign a new contract to stay with the Gunners.
