Man Utd's unstoppable XI if John Murtough signs Saul Niguez and two players leave
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could have a tantalising Manchester United side next season
Man Utd: The first six fixtures of the new Premier League season
Manchester United’s midfield for the start of the season could look strikingly different as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans a Premier League title charge. The Red Devils must prepare for the possibility of losing star Paul Pogba this summer and an elite replacement would be required.
United could lose two of their most experienced midfielders with Nemanja Matic also attracting interest elsewhere.
The Daily Mail claim PSG are ready to sign both Pogba and Matic this summer, with the Serbian weighing up his options.
It is added that United are exploring a move for Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez as Pogba’s replacement.
Saul could be available for as little as £45m this summer, making the Spaniard an extremely desirable option.
Here, Express Sport looks at the exciting XI Solskjaer could field if all three transfers are completed.
Goalkeeper - Dean Henderson
Solskjaer is yet to resolve his goalkeeping conundrum at Old Trafford but Henderson is expected to be no.1 next season.
JUST IN: Man Utd's embarrassing QPR defeat makes Solskjaer's next transfer priority clear
The United academy graduate usurped David de Gea as Solskjaer’s first-choice towards the end of last season.
De Gea, however, could still fight for his place and has the quality to regain his starting berth.
Defence - Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw
Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has been identified as United’s second marquee signing after Jadon Sancho.
The four-time Champions League winner would add class and experience and create a formidable pairing with skipper Maguire.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer arguably has the world’s best left-back in his ranks in Shaw and can take credit for the resurgence in the 26-year-old.
Wan-Bissaka could also be competing for the right-back spot should United complete a move for Saul’s Atletico Madrid teammate Kieran Trippier.

Midfield - Saul Niguez, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes
Pogba’s exit would seriously shake things up in United’s midfield.
Solskjaer is planning to evolve his system to a 4-3-3 and Saul could line-up alongside the totemic Fernandes in a more advanced midfield role.
That would leave United with one sitting midfielder and McTominay or Fred could be entrusted with that role.
But a signing of a specialist protecting the back four to offset the possible loss of Matic would be useful.
Meanwhile, Pogba’s departure could also pave the wave for Donny van de Beek to get more opportunities next season.
Attack - Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford
The arrival of Sancho has completed a devastating front three at Old Trafford.
The England international should line-up on the right-hand side of the Red Devils attack.
Edinson Cavani won’t play every game but remains the club’s most lethal goalscorer.
Rashford is almost indispensable for Solskjaer, but could miss the start of the campaign if he chooses to have shoulder surgery.
But Mason Greenwood found his form in the final stages of last season and is a deadly option up front and from the flanks.
