Man City: Guardiola pays tribute to Aguero after 'fairytale' win
Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero will bring down the curtain on his 10 years at the club this weekend and has already booked in his medical to join Barcelona. The Argentinian international is set for a final role in the Champions League final against Chelsea.
Aguero confirmed earlier this year he would not be signing a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium and would leave at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
However, despite playing a bit-part role for Pep Guardiola’s side in recent months he signed off from Premier League duty in style on the final day of the domestic season.
The 32-year-old was granted a late cameo by Guardiola in their 5-0 home win over Everton and Aguero’s two goals off the bench brought him up to a total of 184 Premier League goals.
In a final twist of drama, his second strike edged him above former Manchester United superstar Wayne Rooney as the all-time leading Premier League goalscorer for one club.
But despite being lined up for another emotional farewell in Portugal, as Guardiola aims to secure a first Champions League title for City, Aguero’s next step looks to be already confirmed.

Reports from Spain have indicated he is on the verge of joining international team-mate Lionel Messi at Barcelona next season.
With the pair set to join up with the Argentina squad for Copa America duty at the start of June, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed Aguero will undergo a rapid La Blaugrana medical just 24 hours after the final.
Provided there are no last-minute delays to the deal, Aguero is expected to pen a two-year deal at the Nou Camp.
A move for Aguero is expected to be the start of a busy summer of arrivals in Catalonia with boss Ronald Koeman now confirmed as staying on for the second year of his contract.
Deal completed and pre-contract signed, Sergio Agüero will join Barcelona after the UCL final - verbal agreement already been reached one week ago. #FCB
