Man Utd: Solskjaer lauds 'world-class' Cavani after penning new deal
Manchester United should prioritise the signings of a centre-back and a holding midfielder this summer after ensuring Edinson Cavani stays at the club, claims Darren Bent. Former Tottenham striker Bent does not think United's need for a striker is as strong as it was before Cavani extended his contract.

"I still think with Edinson Cavani being 34 - and listen he's been brilliant - I still think you need another one," he told talkSPORT.
"I still think you need one other, another striker.
"I'm not saying necessarily right now you need to go and get someone like a Kane, one of the very, very best in the world - obviously of course if you can get him, you go and get him.
"But at least Cavani maybe gives you a little bit of time because obviously the development of [Mason] Greenwood is important.

"But Cavani can kind of be that bridge between, even maybe one year, two years, then you go and find obviously your mainstay centre-forward, or by then Greenwood's developed into that top No 9.
"So he does give you a little bit of time, Cavani, now."
Bent instead thinks United should prioritise improving in defence and midfield.
He named West Ham star Declan Rice as the perfect player to get more out of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.
"The certainty now for a centre-forward, they're not desperate anymore, it's not that they're not scoring enough goals," Bent added.
"I think priorities now are maybe another centre-half to play alongside Harry Maguire.
"I think [Eric] Bailly's better than [Victor] Lindelof but he can't stay fit, so maybe that's an area there.
"And certainly a holding midfielder, if you can have a proper holding midfielder of an elite level, like Declan Rice, and you allow people like Pogba and Fernandes to go forward, I think that money would be probably better invested in that type of area."
