Manchester United will look to make quality additions in the January transfer window as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to challenge for the Premier League title.
Man United 'need more than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer' says pundit
Manchester United may look to invest in their squad in the January transfer window as they look to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title. They can only have a 25-man squad though, meaning some players may have to be axed from the current group.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure at Old Trafford and will no doubt look to add players in January.
United have been inconsistent so far this season and find themselves in 14th in the Premier League table.
Solskjaer knows he needs a run of results despite a public backing from Ed Woodward.
Discussing United's financial first-quarter results, he explained in a statement: "On the pitch, while there is still hard work ahead to achieve greater consistency, we remain absolutely committed to the positive path we are on under Ole as the team continues to develop."
One player United were constantly linked with over the summer was Jadon Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund were demanding a whopping £108million for the England international - a fee Woodward was not willing to match.
The United transfer chief could be tempted in January though if the Red Devils are still off the pace.
Another area they may look to strengthen is in the centre of defence.

Victor Lindelof has failed to impress consistently and Eric Bailly has been hampered by injuries.
Axel Tuanzebe is onlu just back from a long-term injury and lacks experience at the top level.
If Sancho and Upamecano do both join two players will have to make way from the squad.
You would think the two most likely options woudl be Jesse Lingard and Marcos Rojo who have hardly featured this season.
