Barcelona: Fati scores goal assisted by Messi against Levante
Manchester United were never in the running to sign Ansu Fati, it has been claimed. According to numerous reports, the Red Devils tried to acquire the young Barcelona winger's services in the recently-closed transfer window.
It was claimed United tabled two offers for the 17-year-old's services, the second of which was said to be in the region of £90million.
The Premier League big boys' reported interest in Fati was never confirmed, although Barca president Josep Bartomeu did reveal the club fielded informal offers for the Spain international.
Fati has caught the eye of several clubs in Europe with a string of impressive displays for Ronald Koeman's side, who he's scored 13 goals and provided three assists for in 39 appearances.

Fati's father, Bori, is well aware of the speculation surrounding his son's future at the Nou Camp but insists he has no desire to leave Catalunya any time soon.
“Ansu is very happy, he is at Barca, the best club in the world.” Bori Fati said. “I’m calm. He is happy at Barcelona.
"He is 17, he is enjoying himself, he is happy at Barcelona and not thinking about anything else. It’s very clear what Ansu wants.”
Fati has scored an impressive five goals in his last six outings, including a scintillating strike in Barcelona's midweek rout of Ferencvaros in the Champions League.
“My teammates make it easier for me to score," Fati said in his post-match interview. "It is a fantastic pass from De Jong and I just had to finish.
“This was a good victory, it is important to start well and carry this momentum on.
“It is good for the squad that we have a lot of forwards in good form, the competition is healthy.
“My aim now is to recover in time for El Clasico, which I have always dreamed of playing in.”

Fati did just that and made his mark in Barca's clash with their bitter rivals Real Madrid on Saturday, scoring in the Catalan's 3-1 defeat to the defending Spanish champions.
Fati's strike saw him become the second youngest goalscorer in El Clasico history.
Fati and his Barcelona team-mates will be back in action on Wednesday night, travelling to Turin to take on Italian champions Juventus.
