Chelsea: Frank Lampard criticises mistakes in West Brom draw
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed he doesn't expect Kepa Arrizabalaga to leave the club this summer. The Spaniard has come under increasing pressure at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Edouard Mendy last week.
Mendy wasn't available to make his debut against West Brom at the weekend, but Lampard opted to stick Willy Caballero in goal over Kepa.
The decision raised further questions on Kepa's future at the club with Mendy expected to be given his chance very soon.
The 28-year-old may well make his debut in the EFL Cup tie against Tottenham on Tuesday.
Given how Caballero has been preferred to Kepa on a number of occasions dating back to last season, the Spain international may well find himself as the third-choice at Stamford Bridge.
"Kepa is a young man and a lot of the spotlight has been unfair."
Further question marks were raised about Antonio Rudiger's future at the club following the 3-3 draw against West Brom at the weekend.
The 27-year-old has not been included in the matchday squad for the last three games in all competitions.
