Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho provides worrying Heung-min Son injury update
Tottenham's afternoon has gone from bad to worse following their 1-1 draw with Newcastle.
Tottenham: Jose Mourinho discusses Dele Alli’s absence
Jose Mourinho has confirmed Heung-min Son could be out for a while after picking up an injury in the first half against Newcastle. The South Korean was a major goal threat for his side in the opening 45 minutes, before mysteriously being subbed off at the interval.
In his post-match interview with Sky Sports, Mourinho refused to confirm it was an injury to his key man.
Instead, he hinted that his decision was due to Spurs' congested fixture list in the coming weeks.
They will play three times next week with matches on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
But it has now emerged that Son is in fact injured, as confirmed by Mourinho after the game.

When asked if the substitution was planned or an injury, Mourinho said: "Injured."
He was then asked whether he will be out for a long time, to which he bluntly responded: "Yes."
The Portuguese then confirmed it was a hamstring injury that the winger picked up.
Son looked sharp in the first half and rattled the woodwork twice for Spurs.

He curled a fine left-footed effort of Karl Darlow's post before trying his luck shortly after, with a dipping strike that cannoned off the crossbar.
Tottenham did not look like scoring in the second half once he left the field, following the introduction of Steven Bergwijn.
Spurs though they'd done enough to win the game before a controversial late penalty denied them all three points.
Eric Dier was adjudged to have handled from Andy Carroll's header and the referee pointed to the spot after reviewing the incident using VAR.
Callum Wilson dispatched from the spot as Mourinho stormed off down the touchline.
As documented in the Amazon series All or Nothing, Spurs suffered without Son last season.
The forward sustained an elbow injury in the 2-1 win at Aston Villa in February, but soldiered on to net a late winner.
He then had to undergo surgery in his homeland and Tottenham lacked a clear goal threat in his absence.
It saw them dumped out of the Champions League to RB Leipzig, losing the second leg 3-0 in Germany.
Tottenham will now wait to discovered the extend of Son's hamstring problem.
