Manchester United are seemingly in the driving seat to seal a £27million deal to sign Sergio Reguilon this summer, but Real Madrid's reported request may put a stop to the transfer from happening. Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams impressed in parts for United last season.
Shaw has come under heavy criticism throughout his time at Old Trafford, but he arguably enjoyed his best campaign last season as he started 20 Premier League games.
Williams, meanwhile, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign which saw him earn a long-term contract at the club.
But it appears as though United are still looking to bolster their options on the left side of defence.
Reguilon had been earmarked as a target for Chelsea before the Blues completed the signing of Ben Chilwell.

The Spanish full-back spent last season on loan at Sevilla, helping them win the Europa League but has since returned to Real Madrid where he is surplus to requirements.
Zinedine Zidane has both Marcelo and Ferland Mendy ahead of Reguilon in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
And Real are willing to listen to offers in region of £27million, with United reportedly strongly considering making a bid.
According to Estadio Deportivo, United have a stronger chance of signing the 23-year-old than Sevilla due to the financial power.

And Reguilon is said to like the idea of joining the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at Old Trafford.
But Real still rate the left-back highly and would reportedly want to include a buyback option or a sell-on clause.
The report states United would unlikely agree to those terms, suggesting negotiations may take some time.
Real need to sell before they're able to bring anyone else in this summer with Reguilon among a host of players being made available.

They have also sold promising young duo Achraf Hakimi and Oscar Rodriguez to Inter Milan and Sevilla respectively.
Kai Havertz was a top target for Real before the coronavirus pandemic with the Germany international reportedly favouring a move to the Spanish capital.
But Real have since failed to come forward with a bid and Havertz is set to become the latest player to join Frank Lampard's revolution at Chelsea.
