Since signed a new deal in January 2018 worth £350,000-per-week, Ozil's stock had dipped dramatically.
And under current manager Mikel Arteta, Ozil is out the picture and faces a battle to get back into his thoughts.
Prior to the season break for the coronavirus pandemic, Ozil did feature regularly for Arsenal.
But following the resumption in June, Ozil failed to make an appearance for the Gunners.

And on Saturday, Ozil was nowhere to be seen as Arsenal won the Community Shield.
Ozil has maintained he wants to stay at Arsenal but the club are keen for him to leave in an effort to ease the pressure on their wage bill.
Few clubs in Europe can afford Ozil's wages but teams in Saudi Arabia and Qatar are capable of enticing him and according to reports in Turkey, Al-Nassr are willing to offer him a deal worth £15million per year.

“Coming into games like this we're starting to believe more and more and I think that's what it's all about, belief and spirit. Mikel's drilled that into us since day one, defensive organisation and the transition.
"That's what we do every day in training, we watch videos on it. It's not by luck and it's not by chance. It's by hard work.
“The fans and the club deserve to be in the Champions League.
"They deserve to be top four and we want to do as well as we can, as best as we can and put up a fight in every single came we come up against this year.”
