Man Utd 'put all their eggs' in Bellingham's basket claims pundit
Manchester United are just one signing away from challenging for a Premier League title again, according to Phil Neville, but he wants to see that money being spent on a top centre-back to pair alongside Harry Maguire. This summer's transfer window is not expected to be a hive of activity football has become accustom to over the past few decades due to the financial ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic.
Clubs such as Tottenham and Liverpool have already hinted that they won't have big amounts of money available to spend on new signings.
But it appears as though other top clubs are better equipped with Chelsea having already spent £90million on agreeing deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
And United are seemingly in a similar position as they have made Jadon Sancho their top priority heading into the summer.
The England winger has emerged as one of world football's most exciting prospects due to his meteoric rise at Borussia Dortmund.
Having just seen Liverpool win their first Premier League title, United will be desperate to return to the top of English football.
Despite being 37 points behind the champions, Neville believes his former club need just one signing in order to compete with Liverpool next year.
However, the 43-year-old believes the focus should be on signing a top centre-back as opposed to a forward.
"I think one more signing," he said on Premier League Daily.
"You think about Liverpool signing Van Dijk and Alisson in goal.

"One or two more signings or Pogba and one more signing playing to their absolute best.
"I think United can get closer."
When asked where that one signing should be made, Neville said: "Centre-back, you look at the impact Van Dijk had.
"Maguire has had a really strong impact but another real strong centre-back.
"They've still got to be defensively sound. One more signing and United can challenge."
