Arsenal need to start their transfer business by signing a defensive midfielder and two defenders, according to former England right-back Danny Mills. Arsenal have lost both of their games since the resumption of the Premier League last week. Mikel Arteta's side went down 3-0 at reigning champions Manchester City before a disappointing 2-1 loss to Brighton on Saturday.
It was the Gunners' first two Premier League defeats of 2020 but they now sit 10th in the Premier League table, 11 points behind Chelsea in fourth.
Mills was not surprised by Arsenal's two recent performances and says Arteta has not made much of a difference since he was appointed Unai Emery's permanent successor in December.
The pundit says Arsenal's squad is in need of an overhaul and the first additions must be in midfield and defence.
"They've been like that all season," Mills told talkSPORT.

"He needs two or three top-quality players, a defensive-midfield player, a couple of real solid defenders to give them a chance to start competing for the top four again.
"I've not been surprised by Arsenal at all because they're doing exactly what they did before lockdown."
Meanwhile, ex-Arsenal forward Paul Merson says his former side's problems worsened after they made Mesut Ozil the highest-paid player in the club's history in January 2018.
Ozil has not played in either of Arsenal's matches since the resumption.

Merson said on Sky Sports: "Since they gave Ozil that money it's all gone pear-shaped because you can never get a player in because any top-quality player will want that kind of money.
"They've ended up losing [Aaron] Ramsey because of that who was a top-draw midfield player who scored goals.
"How many of them are about in the world of football, where you can play in midfield and score goals? Frank Lampard, people like that.
"So for me it's worrying for Arsenal."
