Liverpool: Harvey Elliott scores bicycle kick goal for Under-23s
There is no doubt Jurgen Klopp wants Timo Werner at Liverpool, but he is likely to understand that the deal is simply not possible this summer. The Reds are reportedly set for a quiet transfer window due to the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
With matches set to take place behind closed doors for the rest of the season, Liverpool are set to feel the effects of no matchday income.
That could continue on into next season and the Anfield hierarchy feel they need to prepare for the worst.
According to the Daily Mirror, it's unlikely that the Premier League leaders sign anybody this summer.
But it may not all be bad news for Jurgen Klopp, as he may now get the chance to hand several academy stars more first-team opportunities.

Rhian Brewster
Brewster has been the talk of Melwood for the past few years, having starred in England Under-17's World Cup triumph in India.
The forward has spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Swansea, where he has shown his capability in front of goal.
He is a natural finisher and Klopp is a big fan of his pace in behind.
Brewster needs regular football now, but it would be little surprise if he was to be used from the bench next season.

Harvey Elliott
Assistant manager Pep Ljinders recent described Elliott as Liverpool's "little diamond."
He is set to sign his first professional contract this summer, with Liverpool handing him a three-year deal.
Elliott has caught the eye every time he has featured for the first team this season in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
His trickery and invention make him a good option to bring off the bench against tired legs.
If Liverpool are unable to sign a back up for Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, Elliott could be handed his chance to shine next January when the forward pair jet off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Paul Glatzel
Glatzel is not the most well known Liverpool prospect, but he certainly knows where the goal is.
The German has missed the entirety of the campaign after picking up a serious knee injury in pre-season last year against Tranmere.
But before that he fired 28 goals for the U18s during the 2018-19 season.
He is closing in on his return and having signed a new long-term deal in September, he is ready to make his mark for the senior side should he be given a chance to do so.
