Man United: Nemanja Vidic recalls playing for U21s
Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic was a "horrible" player once he crossed the white line, says his former team-mate Ben Foster. Vidic will go down as one of United's greatest defenders, winning five Premier League titles, three League Cups and the Champions League during his time at the club. The Serbian was known for his no-nonsense defending which complimented the style of regular partner Rio Ferdinand.
Foster says Vidic was a quiet character off the pitch but would change in both matches and in training.
The Watford goalkeeper, who spent five years at United between 2005 and 2010, has revealed how he did not want Vidic on his team during training as he would be slated for any slight mistake he would make.
"Just talking about Nemanja, off the pitch he was fairly quiet wasn't he," Foster told the Squeaky Bum Time podcast.
"But on the pitch, in training, that guy was a scary bloke, honestly.

"Horrible, honestly he did not care.
"If we were playing a five-a-side or six-a-side or something, if you were on his team, I used to think 'please don't be on Nemanja's team, please don't' because if we didn't win, if I let a goal in that he thinks I should have done better with, he was letting you know and he would dig you out and he was after everybody.
"Honestly he was horrible in training but off the pitch completely different."
Foster also talked up the partnership Vidic had with Ferdinand, saying it is the best in Premier League history.

"It's literally the dream [partnership]," he added.
"You've got the two extremes of defenders. You've got the most elegant, ball-playing, just taking it all in his stride, sort of defender in Rio.
"Then you've got the absolute workhorse, animal, would happily stick his face in front of a flying boot to stop the ball. It was literally a dream team.
"I don't know if people will vote it as the most impressive centre-back pairing in the history of the Premier League, but for me I think it probably is."
