Liverpool 'won't be signing anyone in the next window' as transfer plans laid bare
Liverpool are set for a quiet summer in the aftermath of the coronavirus crisis.
Liverpool: Pundits discuss possible Timo Werner transfer
Liverpool will not sign anyone this summer due to the difficult financial climate, reports have claimed. The Reds were set to bring in several new faces but their plans are now said to have changed in the wake of the virus.
Timo Werner was at the top of the club's shopping list, but that deal now appears unlikely.
RB Leipzig will want to keep hold of their star striker, but Liverpool are waiting to see the impact the coronavirus has on the transfer market.
The Reds have shelved all transfer business and will not be operating in the market until normality resumes.
That could be bad news for Werner's hopes of moving to Anfield with the 23-year-old set on a switch to Merseyside.

According to Sky Sports reporter Vinny O'Connor, Liverpool will not be signing anybody this summer.
He said: "Do I expect Liverpool to spend this summer?
"At the moment, I'm not expecting much transfer activity.
"Certainly in terms of incomings once again.

"I was actually told that Liverpool won't be signing anyone in the next window.
"If you would have asked me in January, I would have been pretty confident of one or two signings coming in to immediately bolster that first team squad.
"Since then things have obviously changed.
"There's a different financial climate due to the impact of the coronavirus and that has naturally impacted on potential dealings in the transfer market as well."
Liverpool were expected to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window.
Alongside Werner, there was talk that another attacker would come in as back up.
Werder Bremen's Milot Rashica has been linked with the club with the future of Xherdan Shaqiri looking uncertain.
A defender could also be on the agenda with Dejan Lovren potentially heading towards the exit door.
