Chelsea’s 13-man summer transfer shortlist with Frank Lampard handed £150m budget
Chelsea are planning a transfer overhaul in the summer, having failed to sign any players in January.
Chelsea: Kepa Arrizabalaga 'not reliable' claims expert
Chelsea reportedly want to sign 13 players in the summer transfer window, after failing to make any signings in January. Manager Frank Lampard could have as much as £150million to spend in his first full summer as Blues boss.
Chelsea wanted to sign a striker in the January window but ultimately failed in their pursuit of a frontman.
They were linked with the likes of CSKA Moscow attacker Fyodor Chalov and Lyon star Moussa Dembele.
Lampard is also thought to have focussed his efforts on signing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who could cost as much as £51million.
According to the Daily Mail, though, there are over a dozen players who Lampard has his eye on. So who are they?
Moussa Dembele
Lyon's Dembele reportedly wants to move back to the Premier League, having previously played for Fulham, before his move to Celtic. Lampard is still keen on signing a new striker.
Richarlison
Richarlison was reportedly the subject of an £85million bid from Barcelona before January deadline day but Everton rejected their advances. Chelsea would likely be told to spend in excess of £100m for the Brazilian.
Timo Werner
Werner has been brilliant for Leipzig this season, scoring 20 goals in 20 Bundesliga games this season for the German club - but Lampard would have to spend around £50m for him and Liverpool and Manchester United also like him.
Martin Dubravka
Chelsea need a new goalkeeper as Lampard is said to be unhappy with Kepa and Newcastle shot-stopper Dubravka, with his Premier League experience, could suit the Blues nicely.
Nathan Ake
Chelsea have the option to buy Ake back from Bournemouth for £40m, having sold him for just over half of that a couple of years ago.
Ben Chilwell
Lampard desperately needs to strengthen in the full-back areas but Leicester’s Chilwell wasn’t readily available in the January window - Chelsea will likely pursue him in the summer.
Ben White
White will likely cost Chelsea £25million but Brighton will try to keep up once he’s been recalled from his loan at Leeds this season where he’s been brilliant under Marcelo Bielsa.
Diego Rico
Perhaps if Lampard can’t get his mitts on Chilwell, then a cheaper alternative option could be Bournemouth’s Rico, who has been one of the Cherries’ most consistent players.
Jadon Sancho
Sancho’s next destination may be the biggest mystery in football transfer talk right now. Every big club in Europe looks to be after him so it’ll be interesting to see how Lampard can convince him to join Chelsea.
Nick Pope
Once again on the keeper front, Pope will provide Premier League experience and a little but more stability at the back - though Burnley may slap a hefty price tag on him.
Wilfried Zaha
Zaha is still adamant he wants a move away from Crystal Palace, but he wants to stay in London. Lampard will likely have to battle Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for his signature in the summer.
Juan Musso
Musso is another shot-stopper who Lampard could rely on to come and steady the ship should he sell Kepa. The Udinese keeper is just 25 and could be a long-term signing for Chelsea.
Issa Diop
Diop has previously been linked with moves to Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea. West Ham, however, likely won’t want to part with him for anything less than £50m.
