Man Utd: Fernandes has ‘already made an impact’ says Solskjaer
Manchester United may have found their answer to Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne in the form of Bruno Fernandes. United splashed £47million to Sporting Lisbon for Fernandes in the January transfer window as they were looking to add some creative flare within the squad.
It may just be one game but there were signs Bruno Fernandes could be Manchester United’s answer to Kevin De Bruyne
Danny Higginbotham
Danny Higginbotham believes the attacking midfielder was the perfect pick and even sees signs that he could be the Red Devils’ version of De Bruyne.
Higginbotham insists the Portugal international still has ways to go before reaching the City star attacking midfielder’s level but was very impressed with his debut against Wolves on Saturday at Old Trafford.
The ex-United defender believes the 25-year-old will provide the same sort of creativity as the Belgium international does at the Etihad.
The former Southampton ace added that he will fit in perfectly in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 formation.

Higginbotham wrote in his column at The Sun: “It may just be one game but there were signs Bruno Fernandes could be Manchester United’s answer to Kevin De Bruyne.
“Of course, the £46.6million buy has a long way to go to match the Manchester City superstar.
“But in his Old Trafford bow against Wolves, Fernandes packed some punch.
“I’m not saying him and De Bruyne are the same players. But at times last season and earlier this season, City played more of a 4-2-3-1 with De Bruyne as a No10.

Fernandes couldn’t help United pick up all three points against Wolves but showed a lot of quality on the pitch.
Solskjaer was very pleased with the Portuguese ace’s debut and is confident he will become a 'top addition' to his squad.
The Norwegian boss said: “Bruno is a top player. It's the first game.
“First half everyone was getting the ball into feet and Bruno is one of those who, when he gets into feet, he wants players moving in front of him and we didn't. He'll be a top addition.”
