Tottenham: Bale to Spurs is a ‘complicated transfer’ says Hislop
Tottenham are closing in on a stunning deal to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day, according to reports. Daniel Levy has gone to Florentino Perez to enquire about landing the Wales international, who has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wanted to sign Bale when he was at Manchester United and, now, he could get his wish in north London.
The Times claim that Spurs are closing in on a deal to re-sign the forward, who left White Hart Lane back in 2013 for a world-record fee of £85million.
Tottenham are said to be confident that they can bring Bale back to the capital by the end of the day.
And it appears that United, who have been tracking the 30-year-old for years dating back to his time at Southampton, are now set to miss out.
However, the Red Devils were always going to find any deal for the winger difficult to broker.

But it was never a genuine possibility because of how much the Wales international respects his former - and perhaps future - club.
Meanwhile, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson recently urged Bale to return to the Premier League with Spurs.
“I’d love to see it happen," he said.
“I think if anyone can get the best out of Gareth Bale, it’s Jose Mourinho.
“Losing Christian Eriksen, losing that little bit of creativity, that edge he’s brought to the side in the last however many seasons that he’s been there, I think a signing like Gareth Bale would really ignite the place again. It would really give the fans a huge boost.”
