West Ham: Moyes ’I want someone that can make a difference’
West Ham are close to completing a deal for Tomas Soucek and are also planning a bid for Red Bull Salzburg ace Rasmus Kristensen. Hammers boss David Moyes has abandoned his traditional transfer policy as he is set to sign Soucek for £13million.

According to The Sun, Moyes usually prefers to watch potential targets play live before agreeing to have them in his team but the east Londoners’ ongoing Premier League relegation scrap made him change his approach.
Nevertheless, the former Manchester United boss is confident that Soucek will be a valuable addition as he “ticks a lot of boxes”.
The ex-Everton manager admits he and his scouts didn’t get to see the midfielder in action at Slavia Prague this season.
However, he watched a lot of tapes of the Czech Republic international’s most recent appearances and was advised by a lot of reliable sources to go ahead and sign him.

Moyes said: “He has played defensive midfield, scored a lot of goals as an attacking midfielder too.
“We needed a bit of all, some cover, another midfield player, obviously goals, so at the moment he ticks a lot of boxes.
“I’ve been here till 7pm every night watching tapes, making phone calls, trying to build up a picture of all the people who are getting put in.
“In truth my style would have always been to have my scouts and all the people there who’ve done it and had information. It’s been a whirlwind, this one, I’ve got to say.”

Moyes appears to have faith in West Ham’s transfer bids as he has insisted that he will only sign players he knows can make a difference in the team.
The Scotsman previously said: “[We are] Not going to do anything that isn’t good for the club.
"We could do with adding but people who will help, not just another number.
"I want someone who can make a difference and feature in the team. If we’re not bringing that in then it needs to be young players for the long-term. A balance is not that easy."
