Krzysztof Piatek eager for Tottenham move as Spurs continue talks with AC Milan
Tottenham have identified the Poland international as a potential deputy for Harry Kane
Krzysztof Piatek: Spurs transfer would 'suit him' says pundit
Krzysztof Piatek is eager to leave AC Milan and join Tottenham this month, it has been claimed. Spurs are currently on the lookout for a new striker following the serious hamstring injury their skipper Harry Kane suffered against Southampton earlier this month.
Kane will be on the sidelines for the next three months with a torn hamstring, and his absence has left Spurs short of attacking options up front.
Tottenham chief Jose Mourinho has been scouring the market for a deputy for Kane, with reports suggesting he briefly turned his attention to signing Moussa Dembele from Lyon.
It’s understood the Portuguese has also made overtures to lure Piatek to north London, with a loan bid being reported.
That approach was said to have been knocked back the Italians, though Goal are reporting negotiations between the two clubs have resumed.

They claim two clubs have yet to reach an agreement for the sale of the 24-year-old, who is said to be keen on swapping Serie A for the Premier League.
Piatek joined Milan from Genoa in January 2019 for a fee of £30million pounds.
The Poland international enjoyed a stellar debut season at the San Siro, scoring 11 goals in 21 appearances.
This season, however, has been a markedly different one for the forward - who has only managed four goals in 19 appearances for Stefano Piolo’s side.

Piatek has attributed his goal return to a lack of opportunities since the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, recently saying: “I look at myself in the mirror, look inside me to understand my mistakes.
“There was too much turmoil at the club, the players feel this.
“In the beginning, as a team, we didn’t create as many scoring opportunities and the striker lives off this.
“Now, we are improving and it’s only a matter of time before I go back to shooting again, I can do it.
“For the journalists in Italy, one day you’re the pope of football and another the worst player ever. But I accept it.
“None of these people put themselves in my shoes, the covers of the newspapers can’t get to me, anyway.”
Spurs will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming defending Premier League champions Manchester City to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Milan, meanwhile, will welcome Torino to the San Siro on Tuesday night.
