Mauricio Pochettino waiting for Man Utd call as chiefs face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision
Manchester United's poor form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left Mauricio Pochettino waiting for a phone call from Ed Woodward, as Old Trafford chiefs face a tough decision on whether to sack the current manager, or not.
Man Utd: Solskjaer admits performance ‘wasn’t good enough’
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come under increasing amounts of pressure in recent weeks, and after the 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday, fans are starting to lose their patience. Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready and waiting to receive a call from the United hierarchy, and would be willing to take the job.
The United board backed Solskjaer on Thursday morning, after the club fell to another disappointing defeat in the Premier League.
But, with the club still six points behind Chelsea in the race for the top four, Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford has come under speculation.
Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked by Tottenham earlier this season.
He’s interested in returning to Premier League management, and the Argentinian boss is waiting for a phone call from Ed Woodward, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Solskjaer has now lost more Premier League matches than he’s won as United’s permanent boss.
After the Burnley defeat, the manager admitted that the performance wasn’t good enough.
But, he vowed to help the club fight back, and the team would respond to the defeat.
He also hasn’t ruled out United still qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

“When we conceded that goal, it wasn't good enough. We believed when we were 2-0 down that we could still go on to win the game. It happened at Sheffield United. We just have to believe in that. But unfortunately, it wasn't there.
“It’s still up for grabs. Tomorrow we will reflect on this game and see what went wrong.
“We’ve got two big cup games coming up, and we’ve got to go into that with our heads held high.
“Every week, home and away, they cheer us and stick by us. We’re going to react from this. We know we weren’t good enough.”
