Bruno Fernandes: Man Utd transfer in 'severe doubt' says pundit
Manchester United would reportedly be willing to walk away from a deal for Bruno Fernandes with Sporting Lisbon requesting the Red Devils spend more money on the midfielder. The two clubs are still discussing a fee with Sporting wanting £68million (€80m) however a deal is still to be agreed.
Sporting want the deal to consist of €65m up front with €15m available in add-ons.
But talks have now been ongoing for some time, despite personal terms having been agreed with Fernandes and United.
And the Manchester Evening News report that United would be prepared to walk away from a deal if negotiations don’t end soon.
It’s claimed that United will refuse to overpay for Fernandes, or indeed any potential transfer target, despite boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanting to strengthen his squad.

Manchester United are committed to spending should their targets become available, with Fernandes having been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Though Solskjaer has been tight-lipped when talking about potential incomings during this month’s transfer window.
"I've got no transfer updates, so no," the Norwegian said.
"If we get something that we can tell you about we will, but I've got no news now.
