Liverpool fans in meltdown because of AFCON decision - 'Absolute joke'
Liverpool fans have blasted the decision to move the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to January and February in 2021, claiming that the world simply doesn't want them to "dominate" the Premier League, as Jurgen Klopp's side could be missing Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita for up to two months.

Liverpool fans are fuming with the Cameroon FA for moving the African Cup of Nations to January and February 2021. The decision means the Reds may be without some of their star players for up to a month, which could play a key role in next season's Premier League title race.

"Even AFCON Don't want Liverpool to win the league," claimed another Reds fan.
One Twitter user simply wrote "ABSOLUTE JOKE" after the decision was announced.
"Shame really. I'm sure Jurgen Klopp has a plan. Keita we can cope with, but Mane and Salah not so much," added another supporter.
One Liverpool fan tweeted: "This is some b******* how they going to move AFCON back to January... they just don't want LFC to dominate! We would be without Mane, Keita & Salah!"

The AFCON was initially moved to the summer in 2019 so that the tournament didn't clash with the Club World Cup.
But, the move back to January next season will mean it won't clash with the Club World Cup in China, which is scheduled for June 2021.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) deputy general secretary, Tony Baffoe, said: "We have reviewed the period of the competition as requested by the Cameroonian party due to unfavourable climatic conditions during the period initially slated.
"After listening to the various arguments and viewpoints - and in particular from the Cameroonian meteorological authorities, the coaches and players - the representatives of the AFCON organising committee, which received the mandate from CAF Executive Committee to take the decision, has granted this request."
