Tottenham have ‘no chance’ of completing transfer as Jose Mourinho urged to alter plans
Tottenham are in need of a striker with Harry Kane ruled out until April at the earliest.
Danny Ings to Tottenham would be a ‘great signing’ says pundit
Danny Ings has established himself as a bonafide Premier League goalscorer this season with Southampton leading to speculation a club higher in the table could lure him away, but Paul Robinson doesn’t think Tottenham have a chance of signing him this month. Ings has enjoyed an incredible run of form in front of goal, finding the net 10 times in his last 10 starts.
His tally of 14 for the season is is already his best return in England’s top flight and is responsible for more than half of Southampton’s goals in the league this campaign.
He is the reason Southampton have moved seven points clear of the relegation zone and level on points with Arsenal.
Inge’ form though has attracted the interest of some of the clubs higher up in the table, as well as some calls for him to earn a recall to the England set up.
Tottenham are reportedly targeting a potential move for the 27-year-old with Jose Mourinho lacking options down the middle.

But Robinson, who won the League Cup with Tottenham back in 2008, doesn’t think Southampton will even contemplate selling the striker this month.
“He is a player who would fit in nicely, and he does fit the bill so yes, but I think there’s no chance of us getting him as he’s key to Southampton’s survival,” he told Football Insider.
“A move like that wouldn’t be a January move, I think it would be crazy for Southampton to sell him.”
Liverpool icon Phil Thompson has equally been impressed by Ings this season, but doesn’t think the forward will be looking to leave St Mary’s anytime soon.

“Even at Liverpool, one of the things I liked about Danny Ings, of course, his workrates which sets him apart from a lot of strikers, but it's his intelligence, with his runs and his movement. He is always on the move," Thompson said on Soccer Saturday.
“With his two bad injuries, we [Liverpool] never really got that - but he has just been absolutely incredible [this season].
“I don't think there would be anything to interest him, at the moment. There will be people [keen on Ings], not from just this country.
“You have a look and see who are the top goalscorers in the league. You see Ings, you check and you know his good character.
“You know how he works hard for the team. And you know he can score goals.
“I think he would be on the radar. But I think he is enjoying what is happening with him back at Southampton."
