Liverpool fans make the same joke about Curtis Jones after he scores a stunning hat-trick
Liverpool fans have all made the same joke about youngster Curtis Jones and the Carabao Cup, after he scored a super third goal against Napoli in the UEFA Youth League.
Liverpool: Curtis Jones shows off his skills during Napoli match
Liverpool supporters have joked that Aston Villa will be “running in fear”, after Curtis Jones scored his third goal in the Reds’ demolition of Napoli Under-19s.
Jones captained Liverpool’s Under-19 side in the UEFA Youth League clash against Napoli, and he secured his hat-trick with a tremendous finish.
The centre-midfielder picked up the ball just outside the box, weaved his way around a couple of defenders, before smashing the ball into the top left-hand corner.
As Liverpool are expected to name a particularly young team for their Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Aston Villa, Jones is likely to feature. Fans have joked that Dean Smith’s team should just give up already.
At this rate, Klopp won’t be able to get his dream exit out the carabao cup
“Villa really are running in fear,” tweeted one Liverpool supporter.
“At this rate, Klopp won’t be able to get his dream exit out the carabao cup,” joked another fan.
“Villa ain't ready for this smoke,” wrote a supporter on Twitter.
“ASTON VILLA AINT READY,” claimed one Reds fan, while another added: “Aston villa watch out.”
“Villa gonna get it,” tweeted a supporter, and another said: “@AVFCOfficial FORFEIT IMMEDIATELY!!”
Some supporters even claimed that Jones would be a future captain of Liverpool’s senior squad.
“Future skipper,” said one Twitter user.
“This kids the future captain,” added another.
Liverpool had previously revealed that they intend to send one squad to face Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, while another is simultaneously in Qatar for the Club World Cup.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to prioritise the Club World Cup, meaning a host of young players and reserves will feature in the Carabao Cup.
Villa host Liverpool on December 12 at Villa Park (7.45pm), with a place in the semi-final up for grabs.
Liverpool had previously beaten Arsenal on penalties to seal their place in the quarter-final draw.
