Gary Neville hit out at Manchester City after Liverpool opened the scoring in their Premier League showdown.
Guardiola will be 'devastated' by Liverpool loss says Wenger
Gary Neville hit out at Claudio Bravo after Liverpool star Fabinho’s wonder strike against Manchester City.
The Brazilian opened the scoring at Anfield on Sunday afternoon after just six minutes.
Fabinho’s 30-yard strike flew past Bravo, who is standing in for Ederson in the City goal.
Many felt Fabinho’s effort was unstoppable, however, Manchester United hero Neville had other ideas.
A top goalkeeper saves that
The Sky Sports pundit slammed City’s back-up stopper, claiming a top goalkeeper would save Fabinho’s strike.
Neville said on commentary: “A top goalkeeper saves that.”
Ederson is sidelined with a thigh injury picked up during City's 1-1 draw at Atalanta in the Champions League in the week.
The Brazilian was taken off at half time as a precaution, however, he wasn't fit enough to face Liverpool on Sunday.
After Fabinho’s opening goal, Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool’s lead after 13 minutes.
The Egypt international got on the end of Andrew Robertson’s pinpoint cross to put the Reds 2-0 up.
And Neville slammed City’s approach at Anfield, claiming they’ve got it all wrong defensively.
“It doesn't matter how well you play football if you can't defend,” he said.
“This Manchester City defence cannot defend. It's a wonderful, wonderful ball from Robertson.
“Salah gets into a great position between Angelino and Fernandinho.”
A win for Liverpool would extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points after 12 games.
It would also leave City in fourth, behind Leicester and Chelsea.
