But Klopp has got his side playing exciting football and Andy Gray has likened the current Liverpool side to Ferguson’s United.
“They kind of play like Fergie’s Manchester United played,” Gray said on beIN SPORTS.
“A lot was on the wide areas, a lot was service in the box from wide areas. You had the likes of Beckham, Ronaldo and Nani feeding balls in and the pace they played with, they were always on the front foot.
“It’s a little bit like what Klopp demands from his players. High octane football, on the front foot, going at teams, not letting them rest.”

Ferguson praised Klopp back in 2016 with the German taking over at Liverpool a year earlier.
“He has done a really good job and revived Liverpool’s enthusiasm,” Ferguson said three years ago.
“It can happen that big clubs lose it. For two decades, Liverpool changed managers without building their own identity.
“You can now well and truly sense that you have to count them in this year.
