“He was going to get subbed before he scored his goal because he has a bit of a hip issue but I am hoping it is not too bad because the way he is in full flow at the minute is great to see.
“He played some games early on and the pace of the Premier League is tough for any player and that has been proven time and time again.
“But with Christian I always believed he had huge talent and would be a big player for us and he has absolutely shown that.
“I thought he was first-class today – as he has been recently – with his energy, movement with the ball, slipping past people, working off the ball, the quality and getting in areas and scoring, and getting in and around the six-yard box – which is huge for any player.”
The win over Crystal Palace was Chelsea’s sixth Premier League victory in a row.

Lampard added: “It is hard with the expectations at the start of the season was belief in the younger players because I felt they deserved a chance but there's always a question mark that you don't know until you see them there.
"There's that first hurdle when you see the bounce when they come in and then they have to sustain that.
“At the moment they are sustaining with Tammy, Mason, Fikayo and Reece who has just come in there. When you look at the younger players they are showing they deserve to be at this level.
“I am proud of the squad that we have got but I also realise it is just a snapshot in what is the big picture of the long term future here.
“It is a relative snapshot of the season, we are about a third of the way through and we are in a good position but we know this league can punish you if you drop off.”
