The ex-Arsenal defender is currently the academy manager, while Edu is the club’s technical director.
Last week, it was reported that the club had taken the decision to release eight staff members behind the scenes.
Earlier in the summer, Edu hinted that he would be wielding the axe in order to improve the club’s productivity.
