Man Utd ‘lacked quality’ in Bournemouth loss says Solskjaer
Manchester United have Mario Mandzukic, Declan Rice and Kalidou Koulibaly on a list of transfer targets, according to reports.
The Red Devils saw their difficult campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer experience another blow on Saturday afternoon, with Josh King striking to give Bournemouth all three points in their Premier League showdown.
Manchester United are fully aware of the need to strengthen the squad given their problematic season and Goal say they have three players in mind.
Express Sport understands the Juventus star’s entourage have already told United that the Croatia international is willing to make the move to Old Trafford.
Mandzukic is out in the cold over in Turin with Maurizio Sarri reluctant to play him.
He’s been linked with a move to Qatar but would prefer a move to United, where he’d be expected to play deputy to the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Mandzukic would also act as mentor to youngster Mason Greenwood, who isn’t ready to play regularly just yet.
A second player on United’s radar is West Ham midfielder Rice.
The England international has enjoyed a solid season at the London Stadium despite the Hammers winning just three of their league games so far.
United are hopeful they can lure the West Ham star to Old Trafford in January - but will have to break the bank to do so.

Rice will supposedly cost the Red Devils £80million, which would make him the club’s third most-expensive player of all time.
Paul Pogba leads the way with United paying £89m to secure his signature back in 2012.
And Harry Maguire then comes in second, costing an overall £85m when he touched down from Leicester in the summer.
A third player on United’s radar is Koulibaly.
The Senegal international was tipped to make the move to Old Trafford in the summer as the club battled to sign Maguire.
But, despite that, it still appears as though United want to bring him to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer opened up on his transfer plans after the Bournemouth defeat.
