Arsenal player ratings vs Wolves: Mesut Ozil shines, one star gets just four
Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw against Wolves as the pressure mounts on Unai Emery but how did their players fare in the contest?
Arsenal vs Wolves: Pundits react to 1-1 draw
Unai Emery is under increasing pressure as his Arsenal side were held to a 1-1 draw with Wolves.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had given the Gunners a 1-0 lead in the first half with Bernd Leno forced into a great save to deny Diogo Jota.
But Raul Jimenez earned Wolves a point when he equalised in the second half in what Nuno Espirito Santo will consider a valuable point.
So how did their players rate?
Bernd Leno - 7
Made a great save to deny Matt Doherty.
Kieran Tierney - 7
Got forward well, crossing a little off the pace. Kept Adama Traore quiet, not the easiest task.
David Luiz - 6
Some lovely raking balls out from the back but Jimenez head the last laugh in their battle.
Soktratis Papastathopoulos - 6
Needs to cut the theatrics from his game but besides that, generally solid.
Callum Chambers - 4
The weak link in defence, doesn’t look like a full-back anymore.
Matteo Guendouzi - 6
Too many touches at times, but Emery won’t knock him for trying to play football.
Dani Ceballos - 5
Was clearly enjoying playing with Ozil but his play lacked punch. Let Moutinho run free for Jimenez’s equaliser.
Lucas Torreira - 6
Seems baffling the Uruguayan wasn’t at the base of the diamond, a role he played impressively at the 2018 World Cup. Made his presence known nonetheless.
Mesut Ozil - 8
Arsenal fans were loving having the German back out there, he impressed too showing Unai Emery that he is still worthy of a place in the team.
Alexandre Lacazette - 6
Teed up his strike partner Aubameyang but largely quiet.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang - 7
Stroked in his 50th goal for the club, led by example.
SUBS
Gabriel Martinelli (on for Lacazette, 60 mins) - 6
Brought energy to the fray, slowly forcing his way into the picture.
Bukayo Saka (on for Torreira, 73 mins) - 5
Tried to inject some pace into the game, used ahead of Nicolas Pepe perhaps surprisingly.
